TRIPCELL

This interview was conducted by e-mail with the band

-----------

Please introduce each member and what they play/contribute to Tripcell.

Josh - Vocals
(24) From Arlington, talented with his lyrics and stage presence. he derives his songwriting abilities from an extensive past and an uncanny outlook on life.

Paul - Guitar/Vocals
(21) from Crowley, has music in his blood, his father was a part of a very successful band back in the 70's. with melodic, deftone like riffs, he is a great asset to the group. always unpredictable with what he will come up with next.

Brian - Bass/Vocals
(22) made his way here all the way from New Orleans after surviving hurricane Katrina, 6 years of musicianship with a local NOLA band and a great comprehension for the tech side of music and strong rhythm landed him in this band.

Ramsey - Guitar/general sexiness
(23) from Crowley. Paul and Ramsey go way back. With more than 12 years on the strings, this comes up with some awesome riffs.

AJ - Drums
(22) from Burleson made it into the PRO AM Motocross circuit and was racing his way to the PRO's until one accident during a race changed that...with a lot of time to focus on life after the crash and with music as a hobby of his, he put all he had into being a great drummer. now, he has dedicated himself to his music.. we're lucky to have him.

How did the band come to be; members / band name / etc?

In October 2005, Josh and Paul met up and started jamming out together. They became good friends all that good stuff. In April 06, they decided that they wanted to put a band together, so they started jamming out with drummers and bassists trying to find the right guys for the band. They eventually came across AJ and Brian. Tripcell was formed in May 2006. in Sept 06, we decided to pick up our second guitarist, Ramsey.

The name "Tripcell" doesn't have a elaborate story. needs no reason, needs no rhyme. We just think it sounds cool.

What is your favorite venue to play in and away from the D/FW area?

Phoenix Music Complex is probably our favorite place to play around here. The owners treat the bands awesome and there's always something going on over there. More bands should play over there.

In Dallas, its Tomcats and The Galaxy Club! Love playing over there.

What other bands do you suggest our readers check out?

Miser
Darth Vato
Determination
Glass Intrepid
Project 86
Neverone
Sally Majestic
Proofed
Mayta

What do you feel is necessary for a good live show?

You got to entertain the crowd! Make sure they leave happy… whatever you have to do get them to come to your next show. Fans make Bands...

What is your favorite song you have recorded, and what is your favorite song to perform live?

Recorded… probably "Hope Isn't Home"   playing live, "Cancer"

Can you explain the band's songwriting process?

Whenever one of us gets an idea in our heads, we go down to our studio and record it down, later on we all come in and try to create something out of it. While we are working on the music, josh works on the lyrics and put the two together...

What message, if any, do you try to send through your music?

Be Real!

What do you feel is the band's biggest accomplishment so far?

Being able to connect with our fans

If you could sum up Tripcell in one word, what would it be?

…isn't it one word already???

Thank you for your time.  We really enjoy having Tripcell as our Band of the
Month for October.
